What Happens When You Put 4,000 Freight Forwarders in One Room? We Found Out.

Five days. Hundreds of handshakes. Over 200 one-on-one meetings. And a renewed conviction that the freight forwarding industry is ready for smarter cargo protection.

The Biggest Freight Networking Event of the Year

WCA World is not just a conference — it is the freight forwarding industry's annual heartbeat.

Held from March 9 to 13, 2026, at the iconic Marina Bay Sands Expo & Convention Centre in Singapore, this 15th annual edition of the WCA Worldwide Conference brought together over 5,000 freight forwarders from more than 180 countries under one roof.

Building on a record-breaking 2025 edition in Dubai — which attracted over 4,750 delegates — Singapore delivered on its promise as one of the world's premier logistics hubs. Structured around the renowned One-on-One meeting format, the event gave delegates the chance to conduct more business in five days than months of regular travel could ever achieve.

For Team Otonomi, it was the perfect stage.

Five Days, Fully Present

Otonomi was on the ground for the full duration of WCA World — all five days — with a dedicated team committed to making every conversation count. Yann Barbarroux, Wilfred W Lau, Bertrand Leseigneur, and Aliaksandra Fedarovich represented Otonomi across the event's full programme: from the Welcome Cocktail Reception on Monday evening to the final One-on-One sessions on Friday afternoon.

The numbers speak for themselves:

• Hundreds of handshakes across the exhibition halls and networking events

• 200+ structured 1-on-1 meetings with freight forwarders from every corner of the globe

• More business cards exchanged than we care to count

But beyond the metrics, it was the quality of the conversations that stood out. Freight forwarders across markets — from Asia-Pacific to Latin America, from Europe to the Middle East — are increasingly aware that supply chain disruption is the new normal. The appetite for practical, innovative risk protection has never been stronger.

"Every moment reminded us why showing up in person still matters. The energy at this year's WCA World was something else." Bertrand Leseigneur, Director of Marketing at Otonomi.

A Highlight: Co-Sponsoring the WIS Fine Wine Evening

One of the week's most memorable moments came on Wednesday evening, March 11: the WIS Fine Wine Event, held by invitation only at the Begonia Ballroom of Marina Bay Sands.

Otonomi was proud to be among the sponsors of this exclusive gathering, alongside Chubb and AP Tariffs. It was an evening that perfectly embodied the spirit of WCA World: a room full of industry leaders, built on trust, shared ambitions, and — admittedly — excellent wine.

Events like this are where the real conversations happen. The ones that go beyond sales pitches and slide decks. The ones that turn contacts into partners. And that is exactly what this evening delivered for Otonomi.

Stronger Collaboration with WCA and WIS

WCA World 2026 also marked an important step forward in Otonomi's relationship with both the WCA network and World Insurance Services (WIS). We are leaving Singapore with deeper ties, aligned objectives, and a shared commitment to bringing parametric cargo delay insurance to more freight forwarders around the world.

This matters. WCA is the world's largest neutral freight forwarding network, and the alignment between its WAVE platform and Otonomi's solution creates a real opportunity: WCA members can already purchase cargo delay insurance directly through their WAVE accounts — no lengthy onboarding, no complicated claims process. Just protection that works automatically when a shipment is delayed.

What's Next

Singapore was a milestone, not a finish line. The conversations started at WCA World will continue — in boardrooms, on calls, and at the next round of industry events. We are energised by the interest we saw, and committed to making cargo delay insurance a standard tool in every freight forwarder's risk toolkit.

If you were at WCA World and we didn't get the chance to connect properly — or if you weren't there and want to learn more — we'd love to hear from you. Reach out via DM or through our contact form at otonomi.io. We're always happy to walk you through a demo and explore how parametric insurance can work for your business.

Until next time — thank you, Singapore. 🇸🇬
