This collaboration provides freight forwarders with a unified and automated tool to mitigate the financial risks of shipment delays.
Otonomi’s insurance now available on CUBEforall, uses real-time flight data to automatically activate a policy when a shipment departs. If the shipment is delayed on arrival beyond a set time, an automatic payout is triggered, removing the need for manual claims and paperwork.
This "no-claim, instant-payout" model is designed to combat a protection gap in the logistics industry. Traditional cargo insurance policies do not cover the financial impact of delays, leaving forwarders exposed to risks such as cargo spoilage, production line stoppages, and contractual penalties, which contribute to a multi-billion-dollar annual market loss.
